If you fail to provide the required identification, you may be asked to pay the difference or be refused entry.
A valid ticket is required per person.
Tesco Clubcard vouchers cannot be used to purchase an Armed Forces ticket.
Cheddar is dog friendly. All well-behaved dogs on leads are welcome.
Cheddar Gorge and Caves welcomes visitors with disabilities. Essential Companion tickets are available free if the person being accompanied has either an Access Card or a Cheddar Digital Access Pass with a +1 symbol. For Access Card information, please visit our Accessibility page. Regrettably, we are unable to provide free entry without an Access Card or Digital Access Pass.
We want to make sure that all visitors to Cheddar Gorge & Caves have an enjoyable and safe day out. Here are a few things to bear in mind to ensure you and others enjoy their visit:
- Cheddar is dog friendly. All well-behaved dogs on leads are welcome.
- With rocky paths, cliff edges and high vantage points, Cheddar Gorge can be dangerous so please ensure children, dogs and other vulnerable people are supervised at all times.
- The Cliff-top walk can be muddy and slippery underfoot on wet days. Wear walking shoes/boots and clothing to suit the weather. Be careful at cliff-edges. There are some steep sections of the walk and much of the path is rocky in nature.
- Those with severely restricted mobility or who are wheelchair dependent will find much of Cheddar Gorge & Caves inaccessible including the caves, the Cliff-top Walk and the Lookout Tower.
- Staff are on-hand to help you, so please ask their advice to help you get the best experience.

- The road into Cheddar is steep and windy and wildlife sometimes walks into the road, so please drive carefully.
