Black Cat Freefall

Ready for a leap of faith?
Deep in Gough's Cave, off the tourist track you can find the spectacular Black Cat Chamber. Do you have what it takes to climb the ladder up into the cave's roof and face the heart-stopping Black Cat Freefall? Watch the cave floor approach as you take a leap of faith off the 9m high ledge toward the cave's floor. You'll be sure to land in one piece as you’re harnessed up and will be slowed to a halt before setting your feet down onto terra firma.
This adrenaline releasing session is suitable for adults, and children aged 11 years and over. Booking is available for individuals or for an exclusive group of up to 10 people. Sessions take place at 10am, 12.30pm and 3pm each open day.
Step out of the ordinary!
- Rocksport activities last approximately 90 minutes. Please arrive at least 15 minutes before your session start time.
- Participants can take as many jumps as time and nerves allow.
- For ages 11 years and over. Children up to, and including, the age of 15 must be accompanied by an adult of 18 years or over but they do not need to participate.
- 16 and 17 year olds may participate without adult supervision. One adult may supervise up to nine children.
- One supervising adult can accompany all the children on a booking for free; other adults will need to have a ticket for the cave.
- Minimum weight 20kg / 3.2 stone. Maximum weight 130kg /20 stone.
- Minimum torso size 35cm / 13.8 inches. Maximum height 2m / 78 inches.
- Maximum leg measurement 77cm / 30 inches. Maximum waist 120cm / 47 inches.
- Minimum head size 48cm / 19 inches. Maximum head size 61cm / 24 inches.
- If you are a Longleat member (annual membership holder), you can enjoy a 20% discount by booking online or by calling guest services on 01934 742 343. Each participant in Rocksport activities must bring with them a valid membership card to show on arrival.
- Unless you’ve booked as an Exclusive Group, your experience will be shared with others (up to 10 people in total for each activity).
